The Fisherman's Stein
This is the stein that I created for my oldest brother for Christmas 2011. I built a mold to hold the porcelain in a fixed postion so that this one did not lean.
The marlin represents his love of fishing.
The Ade emblem I designed has the Edleweiss flower, the national flower of Germany.
The handle features a "J" for Jarrad and I thought barbwire would look manly as the handle decoration.
The coat of arms for Grossbottwar, Wuttemburg, Germany symbolized where our family comes from.
The inside of the stein was painted gold which looked awesome!
"The Leaner" Stein
This was my first go at making a porcelain stein. I anticipated instability while drying but I obviously didnt compensate well enough, hence the name 'The Leaner'. Yes my brother did accept it and its flaws.
This was another project aimed at our heritage.
Germany was painted with the color of its flag.
The Ade emblem I designed was added with the edleweiss flower, the national flower of Germany.
The coat of arms for Grossbottwar, Wuttemburg, Germany was added as that was the town from which the family hails from!
Totally got to ask my brother about his first time over there, speaking no German, riding a bus with a note in his hands to no-mans-land hoping the locals were guiding him faithfully, and walking into a myseterious town to see the fountain in the town square and 'Ade' at the top.. he cried.
The Candy Kay Cross
The inspiration from my Step mom allowed this project to birth itself. The cross was made of porcelain clay. It is intended to be a Christmas ornament that reflects the events of 2011.
The two golden rings on either side represent the weddings that occur ed that year. My brother Brandon to my now sister-in-law Samantha and my marriage to Neal
The fist at the bottom represents my oldest brothers 11th wedding anniversary. He is an advid fisherman.
The '2011' simply is indicating that year.
The dark blue ribbon in the middle represents 'colon cancer awareness' to celebrate my step moms strength in her battle against cancer.
The Horde Hanger
My girlfriend and her fiance are really into World of Warcraft, as I used to once be. So I figured for her birthday I would create a Horde flag that she could put up on her wall and hang her keys or jewelry from.
This was made from porcelain clay.
The Ugly Dresser
Found it at a department store on clearance from $180.00 down to $20.00. This sucker was horrible looking. Like a giant watermelon!
I had an idea and went with it. Till this day it still stands incomplete. I have painted a base paint of white on the drawers but I am wanting to finish them off with a soft light brown.
Final Fantasy XI Wedding Cake Topper
Yup you heard right.. the FFXI wedding cake topper! I used porcelain clay to fashion all these doo-dads.
The moogle (the creature with wings, and satchel) was a blast to make!
The blue teleport crystal was hard to make. I had to stabilize it with a metal frame on the inside of it.
The worm to the right was hard to make. His tentacles kept wanting to fall off! If you look down the top of him he actually has a mouth on the inside.
The O-hat is one of those items in the game that every character had to have at 'end-level'. This item became epic as it took several other players and loads of time to gather all the ingredients to make the item that 'popped' the notorious monster that would 'maybe' drop the item!
In the middle I made the staves that Neal and I used in the game. I chose this over the traditional man and woman figures.
Nurse Kim
This was made for a fellow nurse that I worked with. Needless to say that I still have not finished it as I cannot put my finger on what else I need to do with it. It just does not sit well with me.
I used my typical relief carving and drafted my own design for this.
